Georiga reasoning

Vanderbilt @ Georgia(-13.5)

Vanderbilt travels to Georgia this weekend to try and avoid losing 2 in a row. Georgia is coming off a drubbing at the hands of Tennessee in the Bulldogs backyard. Vanderbilt has played SEC teams close this year, but I look for that to change this weekend. Vandy only scored 10 points last week against an Ole Miss defense that has been less than spectacular. Also Vandy's starting quarterback Chris Nickson hurt his ankle in that game and did not come back. He led Vandy to their only touchdown of the game. Nickson is questionable for the Georgia game with a bad ankle and even if he plays his mobility will be limited. Last week it looked like Georgia's defense took the week off as they gave up 51 points to Tennessee. Going into that game Georgia was only giving up 6.8 points a game, which was in the top 5 in the country. The 51 points they gave up will hurt their average, but that was one game and they have been stellar in the previous 5 games. Also in the Tennessee game Georgia had 3 int's and gave up a blocked punt for a TD, so I think the domination that took place on the scoreboard was more of a fluke than lack of execution. Look for Georgia's defense to come out hungry and not give up many points if any in this contest. Georgia has excellent athletes on defense and they should shut down anything Vanderbilt tries to do. In the last 4 meetings between these 2 schools Georgia has won by an average of 24 points and I don't look for that to change this week. Take the Bulldogs to quite possibly shut out the Commodores. Georgia (-13.5).
