I did this structure for a March Madness Pool a couple years ago and it was the funnest way to do it that I've ever done. You are not rooting for every game like in a regular pool but you really get into a few games and its fun to steal teams from others, etc. Plus it gives people that get the 16th seed a chance as they don't need to win, just cover.
Cost: $10 per entry. Enter as many times as you want. If we get more than 64 entries we will just start a 2nd bracket.
Rules:
1. Winners of each game will be determined via the spread. The spread for the games will be posted the night before or the morning of the games. I will use Diamond Sportsbook lines at the time of posting for the lines. (no complaining that your team lost by 1/2 point and I posted at the wrong time or from the wrong book, I gotta pick some way to pick the lines and this is it.)
2. If you have the favorite you move on to the next round if your team covers the spread. If its a push you lose.
3. If you have the dog you move on to the next round if your team covers the spread or pushes.
4. Should you have a dog that covers the spread or pushes but does not win the game your team is out but you are still in. You steal the team from your opponent that won the game and continue on with them as your team.
5. Even though it doesnt matter who gets who because teams change hands I will try to accomodate your requests. It will be on a first to pay basis. After the teams are set for the tourney and you have paid send me a PM listing your choice for teams in order of preference and I will give you your highest choice on your list that no one that paid before you has already been assigned. If we don't get a full 64 and its say 32 then you will get 2 teams so all teams are taken.
6. Payout: 80% to the winner. 20% to the runner up. All winnings will be paid within 1 week of tourney's end. If you pay with paypal you will receive payment via paypal. If you pay with a credit card then you will receive a check in the mail.
7. As the runner of the pool I am playing but will take the last team available. All decisions made by me are final. There won't be any disputes though, its pretty easy.

I think that once the pool fills up this is a suggestion on how to give out teams.... since obviously we don't know which teams are in, just have everyone pick out a seed in a bracket...ex: 6th seed west bracket....just an idea... this way vig you can fill out the tourney brackets before the teams come out . All you will have to do then is give everyone a copy of their seeds.
Whats funny is when someone gets a team they are a huge fan of and they are so happy then someone steals them away in the first game.

so everyone is to pick one team. and in order to win that team has to cover every single game it plays in the tourney, and the team it loses to, but covers against has to cover every game from there unless it covers and loses, and than you get that new team, etc. etc. etc.?
and in regards to picking a team, what happens if we sign up now and pick a team on the bubble that does not make the tourney?
1. if you have the fav in a game ...you must win ATS to move on
2. if you have the dog.... you can cover or push ATS to move on
the person who wins this tourney will not have the same team from beginning to end. I can guarantee the winner will have at least 1 team change during the tounament
that is all there is to it
as far as how we pick the teams we will either have to wait until the brackets come out in march , or just pick a seed now and then see who we get when the brackets are released. That is up to VIG to decide
