For my first magic trick I have chose the Dallas Stars for the sum of 50 units. Wanna know why? Ok fine Ill tell you.
NHL GAME OF THE YEAR I
Dallas Stars 50 UNITS
This is a hockey handicapper's dream game on a card like today's. There is some amazing history behind Dallas on this game. They are 5-1 in their last 6 Overall. 12-3 when playing on 2 days rest. 17-9 in their last 26 playing the Western Conference. 17-5 in their last 22 as a favorite. 99-37-4 in their last 56 vs Central. 35-16 in their last 51 as a home favorite and 33-16 in their last 49 following a win. 49-14-7 in their last 70 home games playing teams that are at less than 500. Oh yeah, not to mention the home team is 5-1 in the last 6 in the series. Columbus is 2-16 in the last 18 mettings and 0-10 in the last 10 at Dallas. Columbus is 6-15 as a underdog. 21-51-1 in their last 73 playing a team with a winning record. 30-67-6 in their last 104 games playing on 1 days rest. 49-122-8 in their last 169 road games. Take this info and bet the Stars big and go 2-0 on NHL Game Of The Year's with the HotShot TONIGHT!
Now to finish off the trick my second choice is the Anaheim Ducks for the sum of 50 Units. My reasoning to come.
NHL GAME OF THE YEAR II
Anaheim Ducks 50 UNITS
Taking the indestructable Anaheim Ducks tonight when they travel to Florida to play the Panthers. Think home team advantage on this one? NOT A CHANCE! The Ducks are 5-0 in their last 5 road games, 15-1 in their last 16 as a road favorite. 6-1 in the last 7 following a win, 5-1 in their last 6 vs a team with a losing record. 5-1 playing on 2 days rest. 13-3 when favoured over -140. 5-1 in the last 6 vs eastern conference, 8-2 in their last 10 vs southeast and 4-1 in their last 5 road games vs a team below .500! Can you say SOLID? Looking to the otherside of the pond, Florida is 22-51 in the last 73 as an underdog, 2-5 in the last 7 as a home dog, 7-20 in their last 27 overall and 9-28-4 in their last 41 vs. Western Conference. 1-4 in the last 5 home games, 1-5 playing on 1 days rest, 0-6 vs the pacific division and 15-32-4 in the last 51 Tuesday games, not a winning record in there. Take the Panthers big as well in this double header NHL game of the year selections and win big with the HotShot TONIGHT!

When you've been around as long as Dr Tom Davis (31 years / over 900 wins), you've learned how to, as Steve Spurrier would say, "coach'em up!" Drake is part of the MVC, a league that's stockpiled with excellent teams. Wichita St is 7-0 plus Mo St, No Ia and Sou Ill all have just one loss. Drake's off to a solid 5-2 start but it's lost among that group. The Bulldogs will be anxious to 'welcome' Cal-Irvine to Des Moines, as LY they lost to the Anteaters in Irvine, 70-67 in a BracketBuster game. Gone for the Anteaters this year are their two all-conference guards, Fitzgerald and Schraeder. The backcourt is young, and no player is averaging more than 6.8 PPG. The front line is solid but has little size. The 6-7 Fells (10.9-7.3) is joined by two 6-6 players in Sanders (14.0-5.4) and Templeton (11.3-5.3) plus the team misses the 6-6 Nic Campbell (10.5-4.2) who has yet to play TY with a back problem. Drake will dominate this game on the perimeter with a backcourt that includes Grant (9.6), Stewart (5.1-5.0 APG), freshman Young (13.1) off the bench and 6-5 swingman Calvin, who is the team's best player (19.6 PPG and 5.9 RPG). Up front, the 6-6 Korver (8.0-3.7) is healthy after an injury-filled year, 6-7 center Keita (4.6-3.9) is lending solid minutes plus the 6-8 Cox (7.7-4.6) gives Drake more than enough to match Cal-Irvine's front court. In a MVC vs Big West matchup, it's all Drake! Las Vegas Insider on Drake

Central Florida at Minnesota 8:00PM EST
Play on: 4* Minnesota Golden Gophers
Minnesota is playing much better of late since their coaching change and is building a solid core of talent with Minnesota's young team. The Golden Gophers are playing a much tougher schedule than Central Florida, and Minnesota is 6-1ATS when the total is between 130 to 134.5 the last three years, and they are 5-3ATS in December the last three years.
We look for Minnesota to dismantle Central Florida in this non-conference showdown.
Fordham at Texas A&M 9:00PM EST
Play on: 4* Texas A&M Aggies
The Aggies are coming off a tough loss against UCLA, and we look for the Aggies to bounce back in a bigway tonight with 4 returning starters vs only one for Fordham which is stepping up in class big time. Texas A&M will use alot of their guard set which will set up their transition game into easy baskets. We look for Texas A&M to roll over Fordham in this non-conference match-up.

Free Pick - Golden State Warriors (remember - the free picks are NOT rated)
Once again, the world is going to rant and rave about this Bears team and for what, they are going to probably go 14-2 and if the season ended today, they will have only played 4 teams with a winning record, the Jets, Giants, Patriots and the Seahawks.
They have been so fortunate and so lucky and yes, they did what they had to do to cover that number last night, something I felt they wouldn't do, repeating their Arizona Cardinals Monday performance, the Miami Dolphin performance, the Vikings offensive performance and the Patriots offensive performance.
My Monday night hot streak has been sidetracked by horrific games with Green Bay/Seattle and the Bears/Rams last night.
Thank god for next Monday night when I get a game I can sink my teeth into with the Bengals/Colts. Thank god for that matchup.
Still a fantastic run and fantastic winning streak that isn't going to end anytime soon. That is what a 10-2 NFL run will do for you and a 15-6-1 overall run the last 22.
Most importantly, I am up money in the NFL for the year and I am not finished yet. Over a month and a half ago and down close to -300 dimes, I said I would get back in the winning column and turn a profit before all was said and done.
I said, "Tell me where you are at after the Super Bowl."
Well, despite the small 20 Dime loss last night on the Rams, things are looking so good in the NFL and things look really good for a 5th straight winning week.
I battled back after the Packers/Seahawks debacle 2 weeks ago and won 5 of the next 6 days. Well, watch me overcome the Bears/Rams debacle with a 5th straight winning week.
MINNESOTA
Now, in handicapping this game the first question I asked myself is what is the linemaker telling me by making a 4-7 team who's coach resigned, a 5 to 6 point favorite over a team that is 6-0?
My answer is because they are going to win and cover the number and the general public sports bettor will see an undefeated team getting points and play the dog.
I call this line tonight a trap line and I will not fall for that trap.
Gophers come off a 1 point loss to Arkansas Little Rock, a game where they missed 2 free throws with 1 second to go to lose by 1.
However, tonight they face a UCF team that hasn't played anybody and now takes to the road for the first time this year and a hostile place at that, against a Big Ten school.
Now, I was very impressed by the trio of Lawrence McKenzie, Spencer Tollackson and Dan Coleman.
McKenzie went for 24, Tollackson 21 and Coleman 17 in a losing effort.
I expect a similiar effort from those tonight and look for them to take care of Ucf.
With only two proven scorers in Jermaine Taylor and Stanley Billings, the Knights will struggle here on the road. I look for solid Gopher defense to get the ball out of Taylor's hand and force somebody else to win this first road game.
My money is on the Big Ten school here getting value off the 4-7 mark to start the year but don't be fooled by that 4-7 record.
Minnesota has played a rock solid non-conference schedule. Look at the records of 6 of their 7 losses. Clemson (10-0), Montana (4-4), S.Illinois (7-1), Marist (8-2), UAB (6-3) and Iowa State (6-3). How does 36-13 sound?
When you look into Ucf and you will see 6 wins against 4 losing teams and the other two, Florida Tech and Rollings College, aren't even on College Basketball radar. Look at the other 4 teams. Florida Atlantic (3-6), Jacksonville (4-5), Bethune-Cookman (2-3) and Stetson (3-6). How is 12-20 sound?
I think you get the picture.

Take "Over"
The Sacramento Kings (9-10 SU, 9-10 ATS) meet the Golden State Warriors (10-11 SU, 13-8 ATS) tonight in Oakland. Look for lots of offense from the get go in this one. The Kings are 6-2 OVER on the road this season and their last five road games have all gone OVER with an average total of 212. The Warriors are no slouch either, as they are the third highest scoring team in the NBA this season behind only Denver and Phoenix. Defensively, the Warriors allow the second most points per game in the league (105) only behind the Suns. Additionally, the Warriors are averaging 108 points per home this season. The first meeting between these teams in Oakland produced 222 points and we don't expect much different this time around. We'll go with the OVER on Tuesday between the Kings and Warriors.

Take Chicago Blackhawks
Since Hall of Famer Denis Savard took over as coach the Blackhawks have gotten 11 of a possible 14 points. Chicago is 5-2 as favorites of -110 to -150. St. Louis is 9-32 their last 41 games as home dogs and they are 0-7 off a home loss by 3 or more goals.

Game: Denver Nuggets @ Atlanta Hawks on Dec 12, 2006 7:00PM
Prediction: Denver Nuggets
Reason: Denver (-) over Atlanta
Quick revenge matchup for the Nuggets who lost outright at home to these Hawks Wednesday. Denver had won 7 of 8 games before that encounter with games against Miami & Dallas on deck. You can be assured that they overlooked Atlanta in that game with both participants in the past NBA championship on deck. That won't be the case tonight as Denver will come in fired up to get their revenge. ESpecially since they are coming off a 15 point defeat to Dallas. With just Washington, Boston and New York on deck the Hawks will get their full attention. The Nuggets are 6-2 ATS on the road this year.
Atlanta will be playing in their 6th different city in the last 10 days. They also have trips to New York and Memphis on deck. Not the ideal situation for the host who has to deal with all kinds of family obligations after being gone the last week and a half.

The Seattle Supersonics enter into this contest against the host Milwaukee Bucks on a 3 game winning streak, all of which have come without the injured Ray Allen in the lineup. A new team concept has over taken this Sonics franchise, as they look to be working harder at both ends of the court and sharing the ball in a disciplined fashion. The host Bucks on the other hand, continue to be an inconsistent team, that depends to much on super star Micheal Redd for production. Look for a hard fought battle, but for the points to be golden in this spot. Final notes & Trends: Seattle is 7-1 ATS L/8 on the road.

Play: Point Spread: 2.5/-110 Los Angeles Lakers Play Title: 1 Unit on Lakers +2.5
We'll take the Lakers for a unit with TMAC unlikely to go for the Rockets. Houston got lucky on the road without McGrady at Washington, but the Lakers are a superior ball club. McGrady's ability to take big shots and to get into the lane and create is what makes this Rocket's team what it is. The Lakers get the job done in Houston tonight.

Winners of five straight, Wisky entertains a Wisconsin Milwaukee team that they have manhandled in the past. Dating back to 1999, the Badgers are a solid 7-0 SU and 5-2 ATS in this series.
One thing you don’t want to do is fade Wisconsin on its home floor. Quietly, since 1990, the Badgers have generated a powerful 123-85-3 ATS pointspread record at the Kohl Center including a blistering 99-63 ATS in this role provided their opponent does NOT check in off a double-digit straight up loss.
Once a powerhouse, Wisconsin Milwaukee has fallen on hard times lately. The Panthers have won only two games this season versus the likes of Radford and South Daktoa State. This trip will be a brutal one for UW Milwaukee.
Take Wisconsin in a blowout. .
