Buying or Selling???

With college football's top 10 filled with so many non traditional powerhouse teams, I am going to ask everyone are you buying or selling these teams being in the top 10? Give reasons for or against to support your argument using schedule, players, coaches ...etc.

#2 south fla
#3 BC
#6 s. carolina
#7 kentucky
#8 arizona st
#10 oregon

Thanks and take care,

I am buying Boston College and Oregon at 10 but I think its only a matter of time for the others to get knocked off. We will start seeing LSU, USC, Cal and etc moving back into the top 10

Re: Buying or Selling???

S. Fla - sell I don't think they will finish unbeaten and conf. sux

BC - Buy, but I still don't know if they can finish unbeaten (clemson, FSU, Mary, & V Tech this weekend) i see them dropping 1

S. C. - BUY - they have a tough schedule, and have already won some big games, the ole ball coach has got his squad playing, BUT , w/ still having TEnn, Ark, Clem, & FLORIDA? no way they don't lose another i'm saying 2 games.. The schedule is just too tough.

Ken - BUY, w/ Fl / Ga / Tenn left, and ONLY having to go to Georgia, they could win out, if they can get past the gators this week!

AZ St. - I don't see how they are not ranked up w/ S. Fla. Total BS in my opin. We'll find out afte Cal this week and Oreg. in Oreg. next week, but I say Sell.

Oreg - Buy but i don't think they finish ahead of LSU.

make any sense?

It's actually reaallllly tough for all of the top 10 schools, some of the schedules left look impossible.. Oh. St. are you kidding me? Sparty, Mich, Penn st., Ill, & Purdue? wow! good luck Buckeyes.

Re: Buying or Selling???

I will give my opinion on the team I know best, My alma mater BC. They have traditionally been a team that gets to the point of being good and then lays an egg to blow the whole season(syracuse in 05, NC st last year, va tech every year..lol). That was under Jim o' Brien. New coach Jeff Jagodzinski has brought an edge and an agressiveness to this team that is refreshing to see. With that being said the talent level of BC isn't much better than any of the other contenders in the ACC. With Va tech, Maryland and Clemson away left to play and Fla st and Miami at home the schedule is full of teams thatare beatable but to lose one of these games wouldn't surprise me.

The reason they are where they are is not because of Matt Ryan the heisman hopeful Qb but a fantastic defense. They stop the run to the point where teams barely even try to run anymore, which leads to teams passing for substantial yds. The defense is full of agressive playmakers. I believe they lead the nation in picks but yet give up very few 20+ yd plays.

I believe they have a legit shot of running the schedule if they win this week at longtime nemesis Va. tech. and if they do run the table they will probably be only one of two undefeated squads (ohio st?,S fla?). This is what is unbelievable about the Boston area , no one realizes that something special is going on here cuz college sports just a blip on the radar screen here as we are a pro sports town. Non-pro squads like B.C, Umass, UNH and the BRUINS...lol...sorry hockey fans had to put that dig in there get no love in this town and that is unfortunate.

till next time take care ,
lillefty

Re: Buying or Selling???

#2 south fla- Sell, IMO no way they should be this high. They need to be a little more consistent for me to buy into this team. I also think they have their hands full this week at Rutgers. Greg's boys will be ready to play in a much win game.

#3 BC - Sell, sure it's a good story but they are not as good as LSU, OU, Ohio State, Fl, just to name a few. I don't think anybody could make a case as to how they could be. They looked bad against ND too. When will they collapse? They always do...

#6 s. carolina- Buy, Steve and crew are playing well and it seems every time I underestimate them they show up big.

#7 kentucky-Buy, this team would be undefeated if they didn't have two to's returned for touchdowns in SC.

#10 oregon- Buy, Very good and talented team that let one game get away from them.

#1 Ohio State- SELL!!!! When do they start their regular season games. Cupcake schedule. Lets see how they do in Michigan.

Re: Buying or Selling???

Good thread!

On the BC thing they seemed to be a team that has never put it all together for a full season. Not sure what it is, because they've had some good teams there over the years.

My Hokies can only get by them on their defense and special teams play. The offense is a big work in process, and can't be counted on right now. Even though they showed promise against Duke (but it is Duke eh?) I'll be up at that game by the way I'd still have to sell on BC, because I don't think they can sweep out with that tough road schedule.

I'd also sell Kentucky. Florida will be too much in three weeks (SC, LSU L/2) for this team to handle. The Gator offense will get theirs easily, and they know how to defense the spread offense that Kentucky runs.

South Florida, yeah their a sell, and you may want to get rid of them now. The market is going to drop fairly quick there.

I'd buy Oregon now, and expect to see them beat USC and Arizona State here in a couple weeks up in Eugene. You could then sell some of the shares after that game, but not all of them. Big schedule edge for the Ducks. Dan Foutz would be proud!

Peace

Doc

Re: Buying or Selling???

USF - sell, sell, sell....said they would lose last night....

BC - buy only b/c ACC is not what it used to be, they could win out (tough games left, @ VT, @ Clem)...however, they looked awful against ND....

Kentucy - sell, only b/c they lose to FL this week....they did look very impressive against LSU though...

USC - buy, looked good against Kentucky, but i think SEC might be the toughest conference and i think they have at least one more loss left (@ TN, @ Ark, and Fl left)...

ASU - havent really seen much of them, live on the east coast still have Cal and Ore though so sell...

Ore - buy, still have USC and ASU though, but both are at home...
