Promotion: Western Michigan is a top flight Horizon League team and in the last 4 years has never finished lower than 2nd in the West division. They return every starter and everyone from last years team except one player, which makes them extremely dangerous with added experience on board. Last year the Broncos averaged 71.5 PPG , and want to be just aggressive this season, with an up tempo attack and a gritty defensive posture. Their opponents Detroit is coming off their 3rd consecutive losing season, and are reeling after the recent departure of their top scorer and best athlete Brandon Cotton(personal reasons) which adds to the loss of three starters from last years team. Note: Detroit was the leagues worst charity stripe conversion team last year, and I cannot see things getting much better during this up coming campaign. Play on Western Michigan
Charlotte and Portland are ranked 25th and 26th in Pace in the NBA.

From what I've seen of this Cowboys team, they are not very disciplined. They do not have a go-to scorer and are up against a very athletic LSU team. Opposing this SEC rep, LSU has size and versitility. Tasmin Mitchell and Terry Martin are returning double figure scorers, while super freshman Anthony Randolph and JUCO transfer Marcus Thorton are impact newcomers. The Tigers play at 6'4'' and above. Both teams have a lot of new faces in key roles, and it will be LSU that shows more in this first round **** game with the victory.

I really like what i've seen from the Bears in this Paradise Jam tournament. Baylor did well in its opener against Wichita State, and they even better was the Big 12 rep's second half rally on Sunday night to beat a pretty good Notre Dame team. In the title game in St. Thomas, Baylor will come out on top, thanks to strong guard play from Aaron Bruce and Tweety Carter, and another good game from top scorer Curtis Jerrells.

Wow, I am very excited to see this young team in action. Just one senior on their roster, the Sun Devils have a lot of promise in Herb Sendek's second year. For the first time in 23 years Arizona State has a high school McDonald's All-American in James Harden. He comes in along with Duke transfer Eric Boateng. This freshman sensation will combine to form a very dangerous trio with Jeff Pendergraph and Christian Polk. The latter two each averaged 12 points per game last season, and with much more around them this season, their numbers will improve. The Sun Devils also bring in another freshman they are super high on. Point guard Jamelle McMillan, the son of Blazers' head coach Nate McMillan, is an instant impact player that will combine with sophomores Derek Glasser and Jerren Shipp in the backcourt. Illinois has looked very shaky to start the season. The Illini aren't a very strong offensive team, and this young Arizona State team will come through with a nice win to open the season on the island.

Titans at Broncos - Here we are with both teams playing their 10th game of the year and low and behold the Broncos are still very much alive in the playoff race as they sit at 4-5 and are one game behind the Chargers in the AFC West and just two games behind these Titans in the big picture. That being said, let's not fool ourselves. The Broncos are not a playoff team.
Bettors memories tend to be short when betting football. (or any sport for that matter). With most bettors, it's a matter of what have you done for me lately. They fail to take the big picture into consideration. In the case of the Broncos, they are suddenly a team worth a look based on a win over the Chiefs last week. How quickly we forget that the week prior to that the Broncos were getting bounced by the Lions to the tune of 44-7!!
When you do look at the big picture for both of these squads, you see one team, the Titans, who have been consistent from week one of the season to the present, playing good, solid. competitive football. On the other side you have the Broncos who have been anything but consistent. Sure the Broncos have 4 wins. But 3 of those came against the Bills, Raiders and Chiefs. Any time they stepped up in class with the exception of the Steeler game, they were spanked. Losses of 23-14 to the Jags, 38-20 to the Colts, 41-3 to the Chargers and 44-7 to the Chargers. Not even close. The Titans on the other hand have 3 losses (6-3) with two of those losses by a field goal or less with one of those losses being a 2 point loss to the Colts before the Colts were banged up.
Football on any level starts with the running game. Successful teams need to be able to run the ball on offense and stop the run on defense. Elementary stuff. Advantage here - Titans. Heading into this week the Broncos run defense ranked 32nd in the NFL while the Titans run defense ranked 1st. Quite a disparity huh? The Broncos will have their hands full tonight as Vince Young ads a new dimension to trying to stop the run. Young may not be the most effective passer in the NFL, but anytime you have a QB that can run like Vince Young, it opens up the rest of the offense. Meanwhile the Broncos and Cutler will be forced to air it our and you know what that means - turnovers. the Broncos come into this game at -5 in TO's to the Titans even on the year.
This game comes down to asking the better, more consistent team, the real playoff contender, to simply win. That team is the Titans. They are looking to bounce back after their worst set back of the season, a 28-13 home loss to the Jags, At 6 wins, when you look ahead at the Titans schedule and try and project whether this team will have enough wins come playoff time, this game becomes HUGE. It becomes huge because the Titans still have games with the Colts, Chargers and Texans. While no games are guaranteed in the NFL, those look to be their toughest remaining games as the rest of their dance card has the Jets, Bengals and Chiefs. If 10 wins is the magic number, this game becomes huge.
