First off, I am not an Ohio State fan or a LSU fan, but I thought this BCS system has always been a joke. After tonight is confirmed. How does a team get a home field advantage in the National Championship game??? Somehow or someway it should be played at a neutral site. I think at a neutral site, I would have enjoyed watching this game, as both teams seem fairly evenly matched, but home field played a huge role in this game. Hopefully this system gets changed in the near future and we see a playoff! Good luck to all who are betting!
Vytas you make a good point. But in any hypothetical match up of any of the top teams in the nation...... Who would be laying points against SC? Nobody. They had a fluke loss, nonetheless, once again, they are the best team in college football. There was no champion this year....

P.S. With a healthy Dennis Dixon, Oregon was the best team in the nation. Don't bring up the Cal game. That was another fluke, and a game in which Cal was (and was playing like) a premier team. Teams rarely run the table. Let's not forget THE Ohio State Buckeyes lost at home to the team SC hammered in the Rose Bowl.

I understand that locations are determined way before the set date, but the only teams that have an opportunity to play at home, are LSU if it's the Sugar bowl, USC if it is the Rose Bowl and pretty much ASU if it the Fiesta bowl in Tempe. If any of these are fortunate enough to make the BCS championship, the year they would host, as LSU did this year, the game should be changed to a neutral site. Just my opinion, I think last nights Championship game would have been a whole different story at a neutral site.
Oregon was beautiful to watch this year. Just about unstoppable. It's just a shame Dixon's future feature's nothing more than returning kicks a la Isaiah Stanback or Brad Smith haha. Nonetheless, a well-run spread college offense is prettier than an Edgar Martinez stand-up double. So smooth.
In regards to the site of the game: Tickets are offered at a 50/50 split to the participating schools. Theoretically, it's a neutral crowd due to the split. That's not to say that OSU buyers don't pawn their tickets on ebay/stub hub etc to local Louisiana buyers, thus an unfair LSU advantage. One could make an argument about about the legitimacy of the site of the title game but let's not kid ourselves: If it makes dollars, it makes sense. We'll have a gay-foreign-born president before the head haunchos of college football choose what is right and fair over what will bring in the most money.
P.S. Cheers to Mike Bellotti: Chico State Head Coach 1984-1988
