Superbowl thoughts

First of all I would like to congratulate the NEW YORK GIANTS and all their fans for winning a hard fought game. This was a classic game from start to finish. It was like watching the 2001 superbowl all over again as it pretty much was a carbon copy of the RAMS- PATS game.

2nd BIGFELLA you were right on and had a great day for yourself. You had your super bowl pick out there I think before the dallas game. Congrats

Things I loved about this game
1. the refs let em play...no one could complain about the refs making a bad call that cost a team points or any momentum. That is what refs are supposed to do. The best example of letting em play was the key play of the game where ELI wasn't called for being in the grasp...GREAT, GREAT no call there.
2. NO TRASH TALKING ...both teams let their play on the field do the speaking. Sure there were small displays of emotion but nothing that isn't common or noteworthy.
3. The game plan of the Giants.... they came right out and took the defensive game plan of the 2001 pats. It also looked like the Giants victory over the bills . Hit em , hit em again, and then hit em again.. good stuff I love watching great D in action...even if it is against my team.

sports fans here in Boston amaze me that they consider themselves so knowledgable about sports but yet time after time whenever one of our sports team loses a game, it is always because we sucked not because of how the other team played. I was listening to sports radio here for about 1/2 hour to listen to the avg. joe talk about the loss and here is a typical look at how we here in Boston think...I can't believe we lost. I mean we totally sucked. We went from having the greatest team in NFL history , to being the biggest losers period! Our offensive line sucked, brady was terrible, belichik didn't throw to moss at all! our defense was like a sieve!!...notice in that whole description not once did the average fan give the Giants any credit. That is what we do here and it drives me up a wall!!!

The giants won this game because they won the battle in the trenches. Their offensive line gave ELI time to throw. Defensively it was if they knew the snap count cause Strahan, tuck and Uminyorea were one step ahead of the pats o-line all day long. Even when Brady changed his cadence it didn't matter .My pick of the Pats to cover was solely based on the Pats making the necessary adjustments to slow down the pass rush. It never materialized. Credit goes to the lineman of the giants.

Super bowl Success usually goes to the team that hits the hardest. Recent history will bear this out

SB 42... giants vs pats...NYG hit hardest
41 .... Indy--- chic.... Indy hit hardest
40 pit vs sea ... pit was ferocious
39 NE vs phi... NE was slightly better on D
38 NE vs CAR ... NE dominated on D till injuries depleted them
37 TB vs OAK.... TB smacked oak around like ragdolls
36 NE vs rams ... NE had rams WR's alligator arming balls all day
35 Bal vs NY ... ray lewis and company... intimidated NY all day long

Summary ,... this was a fun game to watch ...just for me dissapointing that the Pats didn't hold on. Once again congrats to all the Giants and their fans.

Let me know what you thought about the game in this thread

take care,

lillefty
