    • Christmas Day, 2017 - Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers

Merry Christmas! Struck out yesterday with a Play of the Day loss out of the NFL. Time to get back on track to wrap up the month of December and 2017 strong! Still 187-157 in 2017. We will need to finish strong to wrap up our fourth straight month of 50% or better.

We wait until the final game of five on the schedule for our Play of the Day. The Minnesota Timberwolves are 20-13 on the season and have won 3 straight games. The Timberwolves won in Phoenix on Saturday. Karl Anthony Towns is leading the charge for Minnesota with more than 20 points and 11 rebounds per game .The Timberwolves are fourth in the West, and picking up Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague appears to be a huge key.

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without point guard Lonzo Ball for this game. The guard hurt his shoulder in the recent Lakers loss. Ball leads the team with 7 assists per game, while recording 7 rebounds per game as well. The Lakers are now 11-20 on the season and 11th in the West. Los Angeles has dropped two straight including a home game to Portland on Saturday.

Karl Anthony Towns is a problem for the Lakers defense, and Jimmy Butler always has good games in Los Angeles. The spread is not enough, which means take the road team on Christmas Day.

Play of the Day bet – Minnesota Timberwolves -4.5 over Los Angeles Lakers

      • December 26, 2017 - Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls

We got this one wrong last tine……….

But – time for the Milwaukee Bucks to take down the Chicago Bulls in this game. The Chicago Bulls are 10-22 on the season and the Milwaukee Bucks are 17-14. The Bulls have dropped back to back games after losing 7 straight games. For the Milwaukee Bucks, they are coming off a loss on the road at the Charlotte Hornets.

The Greek Freak continues to pour in points for Milwaukee, and it’s hard to envision a situation where the Bulls have a chance to guard him and keep him down. Khris Middleton is also having a good season for Milwaukee with more than 20 points per game. The Bucks score too much for Chicago to keep up with.

Milwaukee Bucks -6 over Chicago Bulls

            • December 27, 2017 - Boston Celtics at Charlotte Hornets

We have officially sworn off the Milwaukee Bucks. They have killed us twice this month. Let’s start a 5 game winning streak to finish December. We are going to make this one short, but sweet.

The Boston Celtics WILL WIN on the road at the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night.

Boston Celtics -1 over Charlotte Hornets

              • December 28, 2017 - Oklahoma State Cowboys vs. Virginia Tech Hokies

Big winner yesterday out of the NBA. Now we move our attention to NCAA Football.

Let’s keep it short and sweet. Who are we kidding? All you want is the winner.

Offense beats Defense in the Camping World Bowl in Orlando.

The world sees the Mason Rudolph to James Washington connection.

                • December 30, 2017 - Miami Hurricanes vs. Wisconsin Badgers

Back at it in College Football. Maybe we are underestimating the Big Ten here, but Wisconsin is going down in this game.

But – we also said that about Ohio State. I think we bet against Michigan State and Northwestern as well. Maybe even Iowa. It’s been a good bowl season for the Big Ten so far.

But, the Turnover chain is going to be out at Hard Rock Stadium. Alex Hornibrook is turnover prone, and Mark Richt’s Hurricanes are ready to take advantage of it.

The Hurricanes snap their two game losing streak and beat Wisconsin.

Miami Hurricanes +7 over Wisconsin Badgers

                  • New Years Eve – 2017 - Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers

Matt Ryan and Julio Jones want another taste of the postseason. The Falcons must win to get into the postseason, or if they lose – they need help from the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals would have to beat the Seahawks.

The Falcons are going to win this game. While Carolina will not just give in to the Falcons, if Atlanta gets the lead by a bit, look for Carolina to start getting some of their starters a rest in this game.

The Falcons are back in the postseason!

Atlanta Falcons -3 over Carolina Panthers

                    • January 1, 2018 - Central Florida Knights vs. Auburn Tigers

                      2017 in Review:
                      191-160-5 = 54.42% – 2017
253-212-7 = 54.40% – since Knup Sports originated Play of the Day
                      61-37 = 62.24% – NFL since September 2016
                      35-23 = 60.34 % – NCAA Football since September 2016
                      31-24 = 56.36% – NCAA Basketball since September 2016

Scott Frost coaches his final game as the head coach of the Central Florida Knights. What a run the Knights have had, as they are the only unbeaten team remaining in College Football. While they cannot win the national title, going to the end of the season as the lone unbeaten team is quite an amazing task.

The Knights are one of the top scoring teams in all of College Football. The Knights with McKenzie Milton have been incredible with the pass. The quarterback has 15 touchdowns in his last 4 games, with 4 interceptions. The quarterback has seen Tre-Quan Smith for over 100 yards in 3 out of their last 5 games.

The Auburn Tigers are known for their run game, but the SEC has been shown as a little bit of a disappointment, and that will continue here. There is no doubt which team is going to play with more fire, and motivation. The Knights are likely going to outplay the Tigers in every fashion of the game.

Central Florida wins the game outright and become Peach Bowl Champions!

Central Florida Knights +10.5 over Auburn Tigers

                      • January 2, 2018 - Kansas Jayhawks vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Hoping this is not a complete homer play. Kansas Jayhawks fan here – Rodney with the write up on this Play of the Day. Tom and I will be at this game in Lawrence. Two good teams are playing in this game.

The 18th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders are 12-1 on the season and 1-0 in the Big 12. The Red Raiders beat Baylor in their Big 12 opener. The lone loss for the Red Raiders was to Seton Hall. Texas Tech ranks second in all of College Basketball in defense.

The Kansas Jayhawks are 10th in the nation. The Jayhawks lost back to back games to Washington and Arizona State, but have won their last four games since then. The Jayhawks are 11-2 on the season, and 1-0 in the Big 12. The Jayhawks won at Texas in their conference opener.

Lagerald Vick and Devonte Graham have been fantastic at the guard spots for the Jayhawks. Look for those two to be the biggest factor, and the Jayhawks domination of the Red Raiders continues.

Kansas Jayhawks -7 over Texas Tech Red Raiders

                        • January 3, 2018 - Toronto Raptors at Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls have been a Play of the Day killer. But this time – we like our pick – quite a bit. The Toronto Raptors are one of the top teams in the league right now. DeMar DeRozan is on fire. He is scoring just shy of 25 points per game. He is going to smash in this game. The Toronto Raptors WILL WIN in Chicago.

Toronto Raptors -4.5 over Chicago Bulls

                          • January 4, 2018 - Houston Cougars at Wichita State Shockers

Give more credit to the Houston Cougars. They have just two losses on the season. They will compete in this game at Wichita. The Cougars are not going to go to Koch Arena scared.

Houston Cougars +9 over Wichita State Shockers

                            • January 5, 2018 - Boston Celtics vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves take their 24-15 record on the road to the Boston Celtics on Friday. The Timberwolves are 4th in the Western Conference, but are coming off a loss to the Nets. Minnesota has point guard issues with Tyus Jones and Jeff Teague both banged up. That will hurt the Minnesota offense.

The Boston Celtics are coming off an impressive win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The best team in the Eastern Conference should be able to win this game, and win by more than 4 points. Take the Celtics at home over the Timberwolves.

Boston Celtics -4 over Minnesota Timberwolves

                              • January 6, 2018 - Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams

Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons are the NFC Champions from a season ago. Now, they are the 6th seed in the NFC. They go to Los Angeles and take on the Rams, who had one of the best seasons in a decade.

Look for Ryan and Jones to get together early and often, and when it’s not via the air – Devonta Freeman is the man on the ground. The Falcons are going to make sure they are keeping Todd Gurley out of the end zone, and off the ground. Look for Atlanta to beat the Rams on the road in Los Angeles.

Atlanta Falcons +7 over Los Angeles Rams
