  • January 7, 2018 - Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

The co-NFC South winners will get together for the final postseason game of the weekend. The Saints won both games in the regular season during the regular season. New Orleans gets home field advantage in this game because of their head to head wins.

This is Cam Newton's time though. Newton has been up and down, but when he is up - the Panthers are awfully tough to beat. When he is down - they are really bad. Newton has a big game, and the Panthers defense do what it takes to take care of Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram on the ground.

Not only do the Carolina Panthers cover the spread, but also win the game straight up.

Carolina Panthers +7 over New Orleans Saints

    • January 8, 2018 - Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Georgia Bulldogs

After another Play of the Day winner yesterday – time for the College Football National title game.

Too much Alabama. The Crimson Tide are bigger, faster, strong, more disciplined and a better football team. Nick Saban will not lose to Kirby Smart in this game. Alabama wins this game by a touchdown or more over the Bulldogs. The Georgia run game will look similar to what it did in the blowout loss to Auburn.

Alabama Crimson Tide -4 over Georgia Bulldogs

      • January 9, 2018 - Oklahoma Sooners -3 vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Well – what a National Title game. Just did not go our way for the Play of the Day. We move to College Hoops today.

The Oklahoma Sooners have done well for us in Football and Hoops recently. We are going back with the Boomer Sooner well in this game.

Love what Coach Beard is doing for Texas Tech. A week ago, we picked against them and they whipped Kansas. Can they go on the road and beat the best offensive team in America? That would be impressive.

We say no. Oklahoma needs a win after losing to West Virginia. The Big 12 is freaking loaded.

Trae Young and the Sooners beat Texas Tech. In a great basketball game, the Sooners win by 4+.

        • January 10, 2018 - Michigan State Spartans vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights

The Michigan State Spartans were the top ranked team in the nation, and then went to Ohio State and got smashed. Tom Izzo had a couple days to get his team ready for the next conference game. The game is against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights – and folks they are not very good. Sure, Rutgers beat Wisconsin, and along with the win over Seton Hall, that’s about all they can claim.

Miles Bridges was not real strong in the loss to Ohio State. But, that’s going to change in this game. Look for Bridges to have a monster game, and Michigan State to just completely blow the doors off the Scarlet Knights in this game.

Michigan State Spartans -21 over Rutgers Scarlet Knights

          • January 11, 2018 - Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Iowa Hawkeyes

Well, the Big Ten game last night did not go our way, but we are going back to the well again tonight.

The football season was not kind to us when betting on the Fighting Illini of Illinois.

You thought the Illini were bad? Check out Iowa. The Hawkeyes are some kind of bad. These two teams are a combined 0-9 in Big Ten play. Overall, they are 19-16. That’s not very good for a pair of Power 5 conference teams.

Brad Underwood is going to have his Orange and Blue ready here. You won’t see the Illini favored much, but this is one they need to win, and WILL win.

Illinois Fighting Illini -5 over Iowa Hawkeyes

            • January 12, 2018 - Golden State Warriors at Milwaukee Bucks

When push comes to shove, bet the Golden State Warriors coming off a loss. Injuries have this game at -4.5. Gut feeling says Curry, Klay and Durant ALL play. Warriors win on the road.

Golden State Warriors -4.5 over Milwaukee Bucks

              • January 13, 2018 - Oklahoma Sooners vs. TCU Horned Frogs

It’s hard to imagine that TCU won’t come within 5 points in this game. The Horned Frogs have lost three games by a combined 6 points. But, they have played a little over their head as of late..

Look for Trae Young and the Sooners to get on the board early and often and come away with another win at home. The second meeting in a month could be interesting, but take the adjustments of Lon Kruger and his offensively powered Sooners.

The Oklahoma Sooners win a huge Big 12 games over the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday.

Oklahoma Sooners -5 over TCU Horned Frogs

                • January 14, 2018 - New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings

Not only do we think the New Orleans Saints are going to cover as 5 point underdogs on the road, but we are going with the Saints to win the game outright over the Minnesota Vikings.

It’s been a fun story for the Minnesota Vikings. The defense has been good, and the story has been great. But, this is the Saints game to lose. Their defense has been fantastic this season compared to previous seasons, ad we know all about the offense. That offense sees Drew Brees as the quarterback, and the targets of Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram.

Sorry Vikings fans – we like the Saints

New Orleans Saints +5 over Minnesota Vikings

                  • January 15, 2018 - West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Kansas Jayhawks

After back to back pushes over the weekend – we go back to the College Basketball grind.

What other conference do we have our game in – than the Big 12. The best conference in College Basketball this season.

It pains Rodney to write this – but the reign of the Kansas Jayhawks winning Big 12 titles is over this season. The Jayhawks have won 13 straight conference titles, but it’s time for someone else. Will it be the Mountaineers? The Sooners? The Red Raiders?

West Virginia is coming off a loss. They are back home, and the place is going to be up for grabs. The Jayhawks have trouble with pressure. The Mountaineers are going to run the Jayhawks off the three point line. If they force them to go inside, it will a blowout.

                    West Virginia wins this game.

West Virginia Mountaineers -4 over Kansas Jayhawks

                    • January 16, 2018 - Minnesota Timberwolves at Orlando Magic

Let’s get a winner in the NBA tonight:

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the hottest teams in all of the league right now. Minnesota has moved to third in the Western Conference with their 5 straight wins. The Magic have very little chance of slowing down the offense of Jimmy Butler, Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

There has been a bunch of talk about how the Magic could be ready to make some trades. This team right now is not very good at all. The Magic have dropped 7 straight games and 9 out of their last 10. Orlando has moved to one of the worst defensive teams in all of the league. How in the world are the Magic going to guard the Timberwolves?

They are not. The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to win this game by double digits over the Magic.

Minnesota Timberwolves -8 over Orlando Magic

                      • January 17, 2018 - Illinois State Redbirds vs. Bradley Braves

We are going locally with this College Basketball Play of the Day. This game is out of the Missouri Valley Conference. A conference that has been pretty tough over the years – but are quite down this season. The Missouri Valley is led by the Drake Bulldogs with their 5-1 record.

This game is a local game because Rodney and Tom are right in the middle of it. Bradley University is 10 miles away, and Illinois State is 25 miles away. Rodney and Tom are graduates of Illinois State University.

The Bradley Braves are 13-6 on the season and 3-3 in conference play. The Braves are coming off a road loss in Loyola. Despite their lofty record, the Braves have not been very good on the road. In fact, they have dropped their last four on the road. The Braves are unbeaten this season at home. The last two losses for the Braves on the road were by 24 and 16.

The Illinois State Redbirds need to bounce back after two straight losses. Dan Muller’s team is coming off losses to Loyola and Southern Illinois. Illinois State is 9-9 on the season and 3-3 in MVC play.

This should be a pretty good game, but in a game like this – got to go with the home team. The Redbirds of Illinois State are going to come away with a win, and the spread at -1, seems to be a pretty easy wager to make. Milik Yarbrough and the Redbirds come away with a win.

Illinois State Redbirds -1 over Bradley Braves

                        • January 18, 2018 - NC State Wolf Pack vs. Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The North Carolina State Wolf Pack are in need of a win as they take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. NC State is 12-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Wolf Pack come into the game fresh off a waxing by the Virginia Cavaliers. The loss snapped their two game winning streak.

Wake Forest has been pretty poor all season long with their 8-9 record and 1-4 in conference play. The Demon Deacons have dropped three straight games at Boston College, with Virginia Tech and at Duke.

North Carolina State should not have a problem here. They are just a better team, and being at home – this is a comfortable bet.

North Carolina State Wolf Pack -4.5 over Wake Forest Demon Deacons

                          • January 19, 2018 - Wisconsin Badgers vs. Illinois Fighting Illini

A pair of struggling Big Ten Basketball teams in Madison. The Wisconsin Badgers and Fighting Illini of Illinois have dropped a combined 7 straight.

The Badgers are coming off a blowout on the road at Purdue, while the Illini got beat at the buzzer at Nebraska.

Wisconsin continues to keep the Illini reeling.

Wisconsin Badgers -4 over Illinois Fighting Illini

                            • January 20, 2018 - West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Texas Longhorns

We lost earlier in the week with West Virginia, but we are going right back to them here. The West Virginia Mountaineers are looking to snap their two game losing streak at home against the Texas Longhorns.

West Virginia is 15-3 and tied in second in the Big 12. The Mountaineers blew a big lead and lost at home to Kansas on Monday. The Mountaineers were ranked 6th in the most recent Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Texas Longhorns are coming off an upset win over Texas Tech. The Longhorns are 12-6 on the season, but have struggled on the road. The Longhorns have lost their last 2 road games.

This has the feeling of a Mountaineers blowout win. The West Virginia pressure gets after the Longhorns, and they come away with a double digit win.

West Virginia Mountaineers -8.5 over Texas Longhorns

                              • January 22, 2018 - New Orleans Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls

Going to make this short and sweet. You just want another winner, right?

The New Orleans Pelicans are at home against the Chicago Bulls.

DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis tear up Chicago and win this game with ease.

Bet the Pelicans over the Bulls on Monday.

New Orleans Pelicans -6 over Chicago Bulls
