Re: game chatter 7/8

bos/min under 9.5(even) ...boston offense struggling and right now twins pitching is the key. Blackburn in his last 4 starts 24.2 IP with 22 hits and 2 walks and 9 runs. That is a .98 whip and an era of just under 3.00.He has also in his last 9 starts been 6-3 to the under Lester has been fantastic lately.Like Nolasco of Marlins, control has been the key. In his last 6 starts over 41.2 iP he has 4 hits and 5 BB 1.17 whip and only 11 runs for a 2.35 era. Lester 10-5-2 to the under this year. Good pitching beats good hitting and there will be more good pitching tonight.

cle/tiger over 9.5(even)(2 units) wow do the #'s point to an over here. Sowers is 1-2 w/7.11 era vs tigers and on the road he is 0-3 w/9.50 era and a 2.1 WHIP. In his last 5 he is 0-4 going 24IP letting in 23 runs for just under 9.00 era. Add in the 2.1 WHIP and you might get the 9.5 all by himself. Indians pen in the last week was bottom 5 in the league with over 7 era. Tigers pound lefties to the tune of a .322 BA at home. Verlander while much better lately, has been awful vs the Indians in his career, 3-7 with a 6.68 era. Forecast calls for the wind to be blowing out @ 15 MPH and when the wind has been over 10 MPH the over is 16-8.

orioles(+125)..This more of a play against the Jays. McGowan is 0-3 with 6.84 era vs o's. last 4 starts 6.04 era there is dead arm rumors flying around him. On the Offensive side the Jays last 4 games as a team they have pounded the ball to BA of .188,.211,.206 and .219. Toronto pen was in the bottom 5 in MLB the last 7 days. Rios is the only hitter to have good #'s vs Cabrera and some are bad like Wells 2-26! He might get the night off we will see. Jays had late game vs angels last night and took red eye back to toronto. Orioles have been pounding the ball as of late scoring 47 runs in their last 7 games. 3 out last 5 games the have hit over .300 and the other 2 weren't bad either. finally the Orioles are 20-9 in game 1 of a series and Jays are just 10-19.

angels(-125)(2 units)..saunders is stellar on road with 6-2 2.05 era. Last 4 starts for him he is 3-1 with a 2.16 era only giving up 6 runs in 25.2 IP. halo Offense is in high gear right now scoring 36 runs in last 5 games. Angels have won 12 of last 16 on road and they are 21-8 in game 2 of a series. Tex has a lefty named Harrison who will be debuting tonight. He has a 3.55 era and a 1.44 whip for Oklahoma in AAA. Not bad but not dominating by any stretch. He is not their best prospect but it is his day to pitch so here you go. Rangers hit lefties worse than righties and not many on the rangers have seen Saunders before. texas pen was in bottom 5 in era in the last 7 days. Add it all up and halos should add to their MLB best record.

white sox/KC over 9.5(-105)..this one could be reached real early folks..Davies made a nice splash when he came up , but he isn't missing any bats lately especially the 2nd time through the lineups. his last 3 starts he has only gone 11.2 IP but has given up a whopping 26 runners and 15 runs. That is a 2.5 WHIP and an 11.47 era. Home hasn't been kind to him as he has a near 5 era and a whip of 2. Put those kind of runners on and you will give it up every time. KC was hitting real well before the TB series playing overs in 4 of 5 and team Ba was near .300 for that time also. Contreras has a 4.83 road era. June and July have not seen Jose's best stuff. Since June he has a 6.62 era and a 1.59 WHIP.

nationals(+155)(1/2 unit) ..yes I am throwing hard earned cash the NATS way. The D-backs are atrocious on the road and especially vs lefties. Perez has pitched effective in 2 starts since coming off the DL 10.2 IP with only 2 runs against BAL and Fla (2 good offenses). He should be back up to full pitch count tonight so I can see him going 7 here. Perez has been good at home all year pitching to a 2.27 era at home. Zona has put up only 37 runs over last 10 games and only .235 vs lefties on road including .196 in last 10 games. Webb while being an all-star hasn't been good lately. The sinker hasn't been effective for a while now. In his last 5 games he has given up 21 ER in 27 ip and allowed 47 runners. Hopefully a does of DC isn't the cure all for Mr Webb here.

Parlay
oak/mil/cubs/phil.1 unit to make 3.85...call this my wiseguy parlay...lol

Re: game chatter 7/8

Now your speaking my language Lillefty, good stuff as usual. I am going to post later, as time has been hard to come by lately, but will be fading the Yanks and the RedSox today. Call me stubborn, but will stick with the Twins, as I have them for the series, and the RedSox's Lester can lose his grip any time....Keep rolling....Wise

Re: game chatter 7/8

I knew that Marlins play was good yesterday. I got there a pitch too late!! Nice work. I'm with wisey on the twins again (and TBR). I'll be squaring off against lefty with my sucker bet on texas- def. NOT a bet against LAA. I agree, too, with baltimore logic. great value too. couldn't pull the trigger after picking them Sat & Sun against rangers (still hurts). good luck. HJA.

Black Cloud

Houston gets one run and the sky pisses all over them. Sometimes, no matter what, you lose.

Re: game chatter 7/8

what a mess that bullpen is. how do you sit and watch Brocall do that to a lead as a manager? A monkey trying to hump a football.

Hey Lillefty,
Good go at it. I think we can safely add the Phiilys to the growing list of teams that lose when they are supposed to win and win when they are supposed to lose. Good capping, Wise.

you know I was fooling around with a # of parlays seeing what they would pay and how to maybe round robin them to avoid disaster. In only one scenario did I put the phils even in there. They were 1-8 in their last 9 @ home. Sometimes I get too greedy even though I know better.

good luck today
