A couple of these are actually two bets with different odds in case you try to do the math. The final table is usually packed with a pile of "the field" players, but these are cheap fun bets that give me something else to root for.

I didn't post this up, but I played Scotty Nyugen at 100-1 to make the final table. I bet $20 to make $2000. He just missed last year and just won the Horse event at the WSOP. I think he has some momentum heading into the main event here. Good luck HJA

Daniel and Kenny Tran are out. Hard to find an accurate board until first round over. Half the picks may not even play. Now i will root for scotty too, "baby."

From what i gather; Allen, Gus, and Dag are the only ones left as of now. All in top half.

Anyone there this year? I stopped in the past two years but not this year yet. I will be there in early August

Is Poker as hot as it was a year or more ago? I don't know if I'm an accurate judge or I'm different from the masses. Me and some friends had a regular every Thursday night game for about two years but it broke up about 10 months ago and we've only played once since.

Good question. On the one hand it certainly seems down. And, I think there is no disputing that if you compare to 2006 before the UIGEA. The WSOP main event participation dropped significantly last year compared to 2006. But, this year it headed back up (6800 this year vs. 6300 in 2007).

i compare it less to a fad as to a market. for a while it seemed like easy money and everyone played. like all "too god to be true" markets, it crashed. in this case, wasn't so easy.
