  • February 23, 2018 - Rhode Island Rams vs. Dayton Flyers

Short and Sweet and to the point.

Rhode Island blows out Dayton on Friday.

    Rhode Island -13 over Dayton

    • February 24, 2018 - Loyola Ramblers vs. Illinois State Redbirds

Going to go a little Knup Sports local here. As we mentioned last March when we used these guys for a Play of the Day pick – but Rodney and Tom are both alma mater of the Illinois State Redbirds. This time, we are picking against them in our Play of the Day.

Both the Illinois State Redbirds and Loyola Ramblers are playing their final game of the regular season. Both teams will play Friday in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. The Ramblers will be the top seed. The Redbirds could finish second, third or fourth.

The Redbirds have been bad on the road this season. In fact, Illinois State has won just 3 out of 12 games away from Redbird Arena. Illinois State has won back to back games, and are 16-13, but in front of a sold out crowd at the Gentile Arena, look out.

Porter Moser and his Loyola Ramblers are looking for their 25th win of the season. They have just one loss at home all season long. The Ramblers have won six straight games since their road loss at Bradley.

This is a snowball type game. The Ramblers blow the doors off the Redbirds from start to finish.

Loyola Ramblers -12 over Illinois State Redbirds

      • February 25, 2018 - Illinois Fighting Illini at Rutgers Scarlet Knights

It’s the end of the Big Ten season, and the Fighting Illini of Illinois are at Rutgers.

What a dumpster fire game this may be. It’s the 13-17 Fighting Illini and the 13-17 Scarlet Knights.

Illinois won the first meeting by million over the Scarlet Knights.

We are going against the trends here -as the Fighting Illini has yet to win a road game.

The Orange and Blue beat the Scarlet Knights on the road.

        Illinois -1 over Rutgers

        • February 26, 2018 - Duke Blue Devils at Virginia Tech Hokies

We may sound like a broken record….. But, one of the Cardinal sins of betting with Knup Sports – is go against your gut. The gut pick here is sticking with the team that keeps winning for us. That’s the Duke Blue Devils.

Who could be the best team in all of College Basketball – the Blue Devils are on the road, but not sure that is going to matter. The Blue Devils are talented from top to bottom.

Duke still has a chance at a top seed in the NCAA Tournament, and will finish the season Saturday against the Tar Heels.

Look for Duke to win this game, and win it by nearly double digits.

          Duke -5 over Virginia Tech

          • February 28, 2018 - Providence Friars at Xavier Musketeers

I love Coach Mack and his Xavier Musketeers. The way they play the game, and mostly do it as a little guy school is quite impressive.

But – this game I am on the guests. Providence is 18-11, and another win would really improve their Big Dance resume.

The Friars won the first meeting between these two teams. Providence knows something about X that other teams appearently do not.

This should be a good game, and Xavier may win the game straight up. But Providence covers the spread.

Providence Friars +10.5 over Xavier Musketeers

            • March 1, 2018 - Maryland Terrapins vs. Wisconsin Badgers

Two interesting Big Ten teams get together for an early game at Madison Square Garden.

The Maryland Terrapins beat Wisconsin earlier in the season at home. Now, they will have to win again to move on and play in the next round of the Big Ten Tournament.

This is the 8/9 game in the Big Ten. You know what that means? The winner gets the top seeded Michigan State Spartans.

Neither team will beat the Spartans. But, before they get there – they keep their season alive. Maryland does so with their 20th win of the season. The Badgers go home.

              Maryland -2 over Wisconsin

              • March 2, 2018 - Chicago Bulls vs. Dallas Mavericks

Two tanking NBA teams. Which team will tank better?

The Bulls are at home, and due for a win. Both teams are 20+ games under .500 on the season.

The Mavericks are 19-43 on the season, 12th in the West.

The Bulls are 20-41, and 12th in the East.

Zach Lavine will be the top player in this game, and leads the Bulls to a win.

Chicago Bulls +2 over Dallas Mavericks

                • March 3, 2018 - Kansas Jayhawks at Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Oklahoma State Cowboys came to Lawrence earlier in the season and beat the Kansas Jayhawks. Since Bill Self has been the head coach at Kansas – no team has ever swept them in season series. Now, the Oklahoma State Cowboys have that chance to do so on Saturday.

Kansas has already won the Big 12 Conference, but a win in this game would pretty much lock them into a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.’

The Jayhawks are playing much better basketball than they did earlier in the season. Look for Kansas to shoot lights out and win this game over Oklahoma State.

Kansas Jayhawks -4.5 over Oklahoma State Cowboys

                  • March 4, 2018 - Wichita State Shockers vs. Cincinnati Bearcats

Let’s get back on track and even up for the month…

The winner of this game is the top seed at the AAC Tournament coming up.

If Wichita State wins, they sweep the season series and are co-champions.

If Cincinnati wins, they win the conference outright.

Both teams are coming off wins in their last game.

Many are calling this the biggest game to be played at Wichita. The RoundHouse will be rocking.

Wichita State wins this game. Bet the Shockers -1.

                    • March 5, 2018 - Boston Celtics at Chicago Bulls

                      NBA Monday

Take the Celtics -9 over the Bulls

                      • March 6, 2018 - Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Houston Rockets

The Oklahoma CIty Thunder in 2018 are flip switchers. When the lights get bright, and the opponent is pretty good – the Thunder pick it up.

Oklahoma City is like a team that would lose on back to back nights to the Kings and Nets, and then go in two days and beat up on the Warriors and Cavaliers.

The Thunder have 20 games or so to figure things out. Look for them to jump start that with a win on Tuesday.

An OKC win over the Rockets would snap the Rockets 15 game winning streak.

Oklahoma City Thunder +5 over Houston Rockets

                        • March 7, 2018 - Oklahoma Sooners vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys

In the 8/9 game, with both teams having a chance to take down the top seeded Kansas Jayhawks in the next round. The Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma State Cowboys get together in the first game of the Big 12 tournament. Honestly – this could be the best game of the entire Big 12 tournament.

The Sooners feel like they are going to get in, regardless of this result. But, a couple wins in the Big 12 tournament would certainly help them greatly. The Oklahoma State Cowboys need wins, and they need them badly. Two wins could get them into the Big Dance but that would be wins over the Sooners and the Jayhawks.

These two teams have split their two games this season. Trae Young has cooled down a little bit, but push comes to shove, in a winner take all style game Young will be the best player on the court, and that’s who we are taking.

Oklahoma Sooners pk over Oklahoma State Cowboys

                          • March 8, 2018 - Louisville Cardinals vs. Virginia Cavaliers

The first game of the day. This is a rematch from one week ago, when the Cavaliers needed a miracle at the buzzer to beat Louisville.

The Cardinals have already played once in the conference tournament and won on Wednesday. Now, they are looking to really nail down their spot in the big dance with a win over the top team in the country.

Virginia is already a #1 seed in the big dance. You wonder how much motivation they have against Louisville in this game. Look for the Cardinals to jump on Virginia early and keep the lead and win the game.

Louisville Cardinals +8 over Virginia Cavaliers

                            • March 9, 2018 - Kansas Jayhawks vs. Kansas State Wildcats

The Kansas Jayhawks have won the first two games of this battle, by 1 and then by 14. The Jayhawks beat Oklahoma State to get to this game, while the Kansas State Wildcats beat TCU in overtime.

The Jayhawks are without their big man Udoka Azibuke, but Mitch Lightfoot and Silvio De Sousa were solid in the win over Oklahoma State.

The Jayhawks are the Kings of the Big 12 – and a 4 point spread is not very many.

Look for Kansas to down Kansas State and head to the Big 12 title game.

Kansas Jayhawks -4 over Kansas State Wildcats

                              • March 10, 2018 - Kentucky Wildcats vs. Alabama Crimson Tide

John Calipari and his Kentucky Wildcats are playing some of their best basketball of the season. While the same can be said for the Alabama Crimson Tide – Big Blue Nation is out in full force in St. Louis – and this game belongs to the C-A-T-S CATS CATS CATS!

The Crimson Tide have been a nice story, and their win over Auburn was impressive. The Crimson Tide should have enough to go to the big dance. But, they are going to have to wait and find out – as they get beat in this game.

Kentucky Wildcats -4 over Alabama Crimson Tide
