Football Contest Proposals

Now then we have a new football year approaching. Mercifully the dog days are behind us. Idea from westx is opening college contest that starts Thursday & concludes on Labor Day. Any number of propositions exist. Then for the Pros another opening contest that begins on opening night & ends after Mnf. $25 a man entered apon first post of a pick.
After these 2 are kicked off the winners of the college & pro round scheme up the next one. I have some ideas for college opener but mainly this post is to get the ball rolling so to speak. El Jeffe gives the final yay or nay, & is judge & executioner. Questions, ideas, & any possible Presidental runners get in here.

i like the idea of a weekly for what thats worth..a survivor game might be fun if we could find 10 players

How QR% of the populace of the U.S. has been conditioned to live in survival mode(and glory in it) is unfortunate. Not so much as the more than the XY% that have been "conditioned" to think that "anarchy" or "financial collapse" is the concomitant result of it (Or wish for it!) for our "democratic republic".

As to the contest, what style? Survivor, Fantasy like points, or Casino Sportsbook style?
Or how do we determine if we need a fixed amount of plays each day, or consider non-conference, conference, listed plays, # of days or weeks, opening weekends, simultaneous contests?
How should we narrow down some of the variables to take into consideration interest, randomness, bite, buy-in time, entry response, ease of posting, tracking, verifying, new members, members, tiebreakers . . . anything I have not mentioned? Etc?
In all likelihood, I'm in!

the only survivor games ive played were simply "win and stay in"...no lines and only rule was you can only play a team once a season

Ok here goes my idea. Fellow players can throw out there's as well. I figure it will be the usual crowd playing.
$25 entry upon posting a pick.
Winner collects via payp**
I suggest Wise or Vytas copy & paste all lines for all games & days, so that everyone is on same playing field.
The lowdown:
Players must make a pick each day. 9-3 thru 9-7
Pick can be a side or total
Minimum of 10 picks
Maximum *11* picks - players can deploy or not a Vytas bomb. If deployed it is a -3 or +3 value - All other picks are only plus's. Unless a player forgets to make a pick on a day. For example Wise is hungover & forgets to pick Sunday. Or a player doesn't make 10 picks in total.
Add up the holiday weekend figures & the highest wins. Tiebreaker is total points in the Monday nite game.

Chime in guys with additions, subtractions, tweaks, or gripes etc

Taking a break from shuffling papers...is it beer thirty yet?
My idea was to have players pick games each day this Thursday thru Monday. With majority of plays coming from Saturdays card. Sunday & Monday are light days with games. This is all college.
Next week can do Nfl one. That would be 2 contests that end with conclusion of Mnf. Then if you guys agree can combine both sports with 3rd contest that goes a bit longer depending on skill of picking.
These are proposals if well liked as a whole great if someone wants to tweak great as well. El Jeffe can put out final rules. I just was hoping for discussion before games kickoff. Wheres Crani? Ice?

I'll contribute in one or two of these contests this year. Kind of like the college contest this week since they are spread out over 5 days!

Over 400 entries last year at $10 each! Try them!

OH, okay West. I now get it. But the ten min/11 max is that per day? Right?. So then everyone must make a pick on the days when there's only one game? And the pushes don't count.

Sorry for what I mistook. I've never played a survivor pool. Brains got scrambled lately.
