2016 Football Contest Skills Test

Since this contest will be a bit tougher & likely longer i propose $40 entry via usual means. 2nd place keeps there $40 in pocket. Tiebreaker is who is closet to total yards gained for both teams in that weeks mnf matchup. For those new once a play is entered for any category you are now in the contest if decide you just dont want to play every week till completion.

5. Nfl ML fav $150 or <
6. Nfl ML dog
7. 6 point 2 team teaser
8. 2 team parlay no ML's
9. Spread favorite > 10 points
10. Spread dog > 10 point

Categories 7-10 can be college, pro & or combination of both. This contest is simply a race to complete all the fastest. Once won its off the do list. Once pick made in football week that starts Thursday & ends after mnf it cannot be selected again if a loser until start of new week. Questions, gripes, suggestions, comments-Set go

My input, since you asked.

Think we got in to this before. But what can you use for the teasers and parlays.. full game sides and totals only. Or halves, qtrs., etc.. I say keep it simple full game

As far as $, either way is fine with me. If 40 is too steep 25 will work. No one is gonna get rich or go broker either way..

If we only have four or five entries like last couple, do we need a runner up? We need some new recruits to get up to 8 or so entries. I will check with train and see if he wants in.? How bout IVy, Looking, The Cashes, Soccer, Goat?

Yes on full game teasers/parlays with totals in parlay. Teaser 6 point with loser just like a bet if one ends on a push for example a tease of 4 to 10 and the score ends on 10 is a L no matter if other game wins.
Yes if no more than a handful could winner take all. Thought we might start this weekend but not much response here.

IDK. Been trying to make a dollar with 15¢ lately. If you know what I mean. Why I like contests where the focus is on L.V. style wagering. Not on accumulating W/L points.
So then there's some congruity with my weekend "wagering" efforts. So that even if I don't outwit our little band of zealots, I still have a chance to win some "cash" for my efforts vs. the books on my own.
Personally from the amount of views our contest threads get, it seems to me that "the mock wagering style" contest is more of interest to the "lurkers" and those members who don't post or participate in the contests, but do "browse" the "Lounge".
Also, since that's what most of us are doing anyways, makes it easier to "keep up" and contribute to the contest, over the course of several weekends (for instance until the "BCS" rankings are posted?). And has a more definite end point.

I lost my other selling points so here goes.
Yes, someone has to keep track, and someone has to post lines. I would be willing to post the overnight odds. Wed. Nite. for THURS. & FRI. plays. And Friday Nite for SAT & SUN ODDS.
And it helps if each contestant posts the rotation numbers for their "wagers", lines and odds(if not posted here) to make it easier for whomever is keeping track to reference lines, odds, totals, and winnings. Even if we use "Wise's" method where all ATS / totals wagers are figured at -110. Or the honor system for money line odds.
And predetermine WG, halfs, categories of parlays, #'s of teams in such and teasers, categories of eligible bets and such, for those of us familiar with the "exotic bets" and those not so. And not scare the less "sophisticated" members away. But encourage them to experiment.And agree on initial bank roll and wager min/maxs.
And members can still demonstrate their skills, and like myself when I first really came to the lounge in the "oughts", can learn new strats, grab a few winning plays, get over their fear of posting, asking questions, joining in the fray, etc.
And the longer the contest, but the greater the required engagement and excitement, the more folks may be willing to contribute to the "prize" pools.

It seems that at any given time, especially before post times there are 40 to 70 people on line at, "or viewing" the lounge. How do we interest some of them to join in the contests?

well then...as far as the 50-70 ppl looking in,id wager 90% of them are here for free service plays...sumpin for nuthin players...they wont risk 25 bucks ...

its sad that the 5 0r six of us that post regularly are the only ones interested,but i think thats what we got...i for one love the challenge...beating a few sharps is almost as much fun as winning a bet...

anyway...im in regardless...not sure if bill is even interested in getting more regulars...lol...im not even sure why i signed up here....
